Commodore’s Message

wiora2016A4flyerA message from the Commodore and Committee

Hi All,

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy New Year and good sailing.

You will be aware from my Christmas message that we are planning to hold an open meeting for all our members, supporters, fellow sailors of all forms on Friday 16th January in the Haven Arms at 20:00 hrs, Finger food will be available to help maintain progress.

This meeting is designed to get everybody’s views and input ideas for the development of sailing and waterborne activities based at Kilrush Marina and on the water of the Shannon Estuary.

The format of the meeting will comprise initially some short talks by the following on various aspects: Louis Keating on the Marina redevelopment plans, Kim Roberts on the potential development of Cruising under sail, Jim Carroll and Simon McGibney on the development of Dingy Sailing and training and also from the Commodore Adrian O’Connell on racing and developments on the Estuary for 2015 and 2016.

After these short talks, we plan to hear views from the floor; paper, pens and a ballot box will be available for those who wish to make their views known anonymously.
After the meeting we will all retire to the bar for finger food provided by the Club, drinks not included.

Please make the effort to attend as we need your input and ideas for the future.  I have attached a membership form for those who want to be directly involved in the Clubs future.

I look forward to meeting with you on the 16th of January,
With best regards,
Adrian O’Connell
