RWYCI Commodore looking forward to 2018 sailing season.

Dear fellow members,

Firstly, let me introduce myself, my name is Fergal Stynes and I have the honour of being elected club commodore for 2018. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Richard Glynn and the outgoing committee for all their hard work last season and I hope I can follow in the big footsteps left behind.

Allegedly, Spring has finally sprung and we can look forward to warmer weather and the start of another great sailing season at the RYWCI.

Looking ahead, we have big plans for the club in the coming year, which will hopefully see formal recognition from Irish sailing to conduct our own dinghy training courses (both adult and junior), a revamped dinghy compound, more club yacht racing, cruising in company and a social calendar to allow the telling of tall tales. Keep an eye on the club website and noticeboard for more information.

To allow us to embark on this ambitious plan, we as club members must remember that the club is ours and only as good as the membership makes it. The club can only grow through its members so please volunteer when you can.

We will be publishing a club newsletter shortly with details of our sailing and social calendar to keep you better informed.

I hope you see you all on the water very soon.

Best regards,

Fergal Stynes.
