Inclusion Sailing
Our courses are operated in the safe haven of Kilrush Marina. Our waters are non-tidal and a perfect place to try sailing.
Sailing will take place on a Hawk 20, a stable day boat with a roomy cockpit which can take up to six people sailing. It is widely used by clubs for taking people with people with disabilities out sailing. In the past we were very fortunate to have the use of Irish Sailing's Hawk 20, named the Gina G, for inclusion sailing. This year for 2025 we have our own Hawk 20. We will also have use of the club's two powerboats and there will also be opportunities to try sailing on a number of other sailing dinghies if preferred.
Sessions are a maximum of 1 hour and 30 minutes long. We are aware that for some participants 30 minutes might be more than enough. The amount of time you spend on the water can be adapted to suit each individual.
Families/groups will be met by an instructor and all participants will be fitted with a buoyancy aid before being escorted to the boats. Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
Participants must be accompanied by a parent or other adult on the water.
When booking please select the relevant session you wish to attend as an add on. e.g Session 4A indicates the morning session on Thursday at 0930-1100. Places limited for each session.
All activities are weather dependent.
