Welcome to the Western Yacht Club of Ireland Training Centre. We run sailing courses for adults and juniors (9 years old to 16 years old) in the summer months.
Our courses are operated in the safe haven of Kilrush Marina. Our waters are non-tidal and a perfect place to start sailing. More advanced sailors may occasionally go on supervised sailing trips outside the marina, subject to weather conditions.
All courses are run by qualified instructors in line with Irish Sailing guidelines.

Junior Sailing Course Dates Summer 2025
JULY & AUGUST
Summer Courses (9 years to 16 years)
Courses will run from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday
Sailing lessons are run on the Optimist Dinghy for children from 9 to 12 years and on the Topaz, RS Feva, GP14 and Wayfarer dinghies for more competent or older sailors.

Course costs
€250 per person
Family Membership Discount €225 per person
Courses are certified by Irish Sailing and run by fully qualified instructors.
Numbers are strictly limited on all courses as per Irish Sailing ratios.
